چکیده

Pysiological tremor was measured in 14 pairs of monozygotic twins, 14 pairs of dizygotic twins, and 14 pairs of control subjects matched for age and sex. Postural finger tremor was measured in each pair using a sub-miniature accelerometer and subjecting the amplified signals to power spectral analysis. Significant genetical influences were found for the proportion of tremore at frequencies near the peak frequency of 9-10 Hz. No genetical effects were found at other frequencies or for the absolute amount of tremore. The results suggest that physiological tremor between 8 and 13 Hz is genetically influenced and that tremor at these frequencies is determined by different mechanisms than those at other frequencies.

Load-independent contributions from motor-unit synchronization to human physiological tremor.

This study describes two load-independent rhythmic contributions from motor-unit synchronization to normal physiological tremor, which occur in the frequency ranges 1-12 Hz and 15-30 Hz. In common with previous studies, we use increased inertial loading to identify load-independent components of physiological tremor. The data consist of simultaneous recordings of tremor acceleration from the th...

Minocycline Mitigation of Tremor Syndrome and Defect of Cognitive and Balance Induced by Harmaline

Introduction: Minocycline has anti-inflammatory, anti-apoptotic, and anti-oxidant effects. Preclinical data suggest that minocycline could be beneficial for treating common neurological disorders, including Parkinson disease and multiple sclerosis. Methods: In this study, the effects of minocycline on harmaline-induced motor and cognitive impairments were studied in male Wistar rats. The rats ...

Physiological and pathological tremors and rhythmic central motor control.

In recent years there has been increasing interest in oscillatory neural activity in the CNS and in the role that such activity may have in motor control. It is thought that physiological tremor may be a manifestation in the periphery of such central oscillatory activity and that some pathological tremors are the result of derangement of these oscillators. This review re-evaluates both early an...

Double adaptive bandlimited multiple Fourier linear combiner for real-time estimation/filtering of physiological tremor

Tremor is the root cause for human imprecision during microsurgery. Accurate filtering of physiological tremor is extremely important for compensation in robotics assisted microsurgical instruments/ procedures. A study on several surgeons tremor is conducted and the characteristics of the tremor are analyzed. A double adaptive bandlimited multiple Fourier linear combiner is designed to estimate...

Levodopa reversible loss of the Piper frequency oscillation component in Parkinson's disease.

OBJECTIVES Although Parkinson's disease is typically characterised by bradykinesia, rigidity, and rest tremor, the possibility that two additional motor deficits are manifest during small hand muscle activity was explored-namely, weakness and abnormal physiological tremor. METHODS A paradigm previously used in normal subjects reliably records the strength, tremor and surface EMG of index fing...
